Me and my car

I think the car bug really bit me when I went for a ride in a reasonably quick car. It was my friend’s ‘68 Cuda, which was leaps and bounds faster than any vehicle I had sat in at the time. I was not quite aware of what I enjoyed about cars until the same friend later bought a hopped up 5.0 Mustang, and the first time I heard that 302 firing through an off-road H-pipe and 2-chamber Flowmasters, I was obsessed.

My first car was a 1984 Mustang 5.0, but since that time I’ve owned a number of reasonably quick cars, including a 1986 Mustang 5.0 LX ex-patrol car, a 1999 Mustang GT hardtop, and a reasonably modified 1992 Eagle Talon TSI AWD, which is the car I currently drive.

I have not been to the track with my Talon for several years, but the last time recorded was a 12.9 @ 105 MPH with a 1.72 60-foot time (on its all season tires). The car’s mods include a 16G turbo, 255 LPH fuel pump, boost controller, 550cc injectors, K&N, upper IC pipe, and an S-AFC. It’s also got a 1″ DSS swaybar, 3000GT brakes, Brembo rotors with Hawk HPS pads, KYB AGX coilovers and H&R springs. I have yet to autocross or road race it, but it’s on the agenda. :)

Why I created this site

I’ve worked with computers and programming for the last decade, but my happiest memories involved rumbling V8s, whistling turbochargers, leaded gas, and the feeling of torque knocking my ass back in the seat. The reason I started Stuck in Second (s2nd.com, stuckinsecond.com) was because I want to share my passion of cars with the world, one day at a time.

Stuck in Second is relatively new (as of the time I’m writing this), but I plan to dedicate a very large percentage of my time to developing and improving the site. That said, thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the content I’ve decided to share with you.

If you have any suggestions, comments, or videos you think I should add to the site, please use the contact form here to submit them. Thanks!
