The FXX is essentially an 800 HP, even lighter weight version of the Ferrari Enzo. It’s obviously not something you see in the wild too often (since there are only 30 of them and they cost about 2.5 million dollars), but it’s occasionally seen on tracks.
Behold! A test drive of Lamborghini’s craziest contraption. I say crazy because its style is a few steps beyond anything Lamborghini’s made for decades, which was already quite different than anything preceding it.
Here’s the Top Gear guys drooling over the car, talking about how it was inspired by the F22 Raptor:
Only 20 of these cars are being built (are built?), 11 of which are going to the United States. A 6.5l V12 pumps out 650 HP. More info is available here.
Top Gear pits the Pagani Zonda against the Koenigsegg CCX:
(this video was deleted, I apologize…)
Here’s another video from the Cars and Coffee cruise. Basically, some guys with a lot of money decided to meet up and show off their Ferrari Enzos, Carrera GTs, Vipers, Ford GTs, and that sort of thing:
Koenigsegg (of Sweden) makes incredible supercars. The four models you’ve probably heard of are the CC8S, CCR, CCX, and the CCGT. The CC8S is the “base” version, which still offers a 655 HP DOHC dry sump V8 and weighs under 2600 lbs. The CCR upgrades the engine to 806 HP, which the CCX shares. The CCGT is the race version.
Here’s the CCGT pulling into a garage. Listen to that exhaust and cam (clearly it does not like low speeds):
The styling of this car is just amazing so I had to share. It’s wrapped in carbon fiber and powered by a 450 HP V8 (he says V9, but I it’s a mis-translation), with a sexy exhaust note. It weighs somewhere between 3000 and 3400 lbs but is very aerodynamic. Designed by Wolfgang Egger (now with Audi), it has some of the most interesting curves ever slapped onto an automobile. Only 500 will be made, 84 of which will go to the United States, so buy yours soon.
