Gran Turismo brought major popularity to Suzuki’s Escudo “Pike’s Peak Edition” (or Grand Vitara as it was really called), a ridiculously overpowered hill climbing rally car. Here’s a couple videos showing this beast in action in real life:

The early 80s were some of the most exciting years ever for racing. WRC had the Group B class cars, which unlocked an era of very fast and dangerous, yet beautiful and sophisticated machines.
After only four short years and a few severe accidents including a couple fatalities, WRC pulled the plug on Group B much to the dismay of its core fans.
