SharkWerks Porsche 997 GT3 RS - Sound Clips
The car’s obviously a lot of fun to drive. Incredible steering response, uber rigid chassis, and the best sounding exhaust I’ve ever heard. Filming this was also really fun.
I ended up using video of the magazines because I couldn’t get Avid Media Studio to import the pictures without degrading and aliasing them so I filmed that in the back of the shop around lunch time.
For the shot where the RS is coming around the turn on a steep hill, I rotated the camera on a broken glass bottle instead of using the tripod. I needed something low to the ground that would support the camera.
Very small amounts of this were filmed in HD, but most was on a 3CCD Canon with an external mic. We could definitely upgrade the mics we use and I hope to soon.
Some of the footage you see (the Speed Supercars Exposed stuff) was shot trackside at Infineon Raceway while professional drifter / stuntman / Top Gear America host Tanner Foust drove the snot out of the RS. There’s a short clip of him interviewing Alex while the producer watches on.
